Why do you need my phone number, email address, city, state, and zipcode?
Starter's Box only uses the information to identify your account. As Starter's Box grows into other cities, it will be hard to uniquely identify an account holder. Facilities use the phone and/or the zip code in order to search for your account. Your location is important, as we want to display information that would be relevant, like upcoming events in your area. We use the email address for your username.

Do I need to know my account number to use the system?
No. We do recommend using it when you call in for a tee time, as it will make it easier and faster for facility personnel to retrieve your account.

Why do you ask for credit card information?
The billing information is strictly optional. We do not recommend supplying it unless it is absolutely necessary. Some participating courses require pre-paying for green fees or a credit card number to reserve a tee time. Plus, as Starter’s Box expands, you may want to indulge in some of the new amenities. Your billing information is not required to become a member of Starter's Box. We will not share any of your information to anyone without your permission. Please view our terms of service and privacy policy for more information. Rest assured that if you do supply your billing information that only parts of the information is stored. We store this information in a highly secure environment behind the firewall in a secured data store and then encrypt it for extra security. The only reason we offer you the option to supply the information in advance is for your convenience.

When are tee times available?
Each golf facility defines when their tee times are available. Visit the golf facility profile for more information about their online tee times booking policy.

How many tee times can I book in one day?
We only allow one booking per account per day. Each booking is allowed up to two tee times back to back. We implemented these rules due to abuse in the past. If you need to book more tee times that what is allotted, please contact the golf course directly.

Can I cancel my tee times online?
Yes. After you login click on "My Tee Times" to view your current tee times, follow the instructions accordingly.

How do I change my golf reservation?
You can cancel your tee time and then go back through the booking process again. In many cases, this is not possible since the tee times may not available, so you will need to contact the golf course directly.

Why does Starter's Box only show the last 20 rounds?
The USGA handicap formula uses up to the last 20 rounds.

When will there be more golf courses on Starter's Box?
The Starter's Box site is open to any public golf facility in the United States. We just started allowing other courses to participate, so it will take some time to get more online. Feel free to recommend Starter’s Box to your favorite course and encourage them to sign-up. Tell them it’s FREE!
